SIGN-UP FOR LESSONS

Policies

Tuition is based on a flat monthly fee rather than per lesson.

Payment is due in full by the first lesson of each month.

You will receive a monthly invoice reminder via email and/or text.

Accepted forms of payment include:

  • Direct bank transfer via electronic invoice
  • Cash
  • Check (payable to Jesse Andreasen)
  • Venmo (@nothingsimpleg1).

*Credit Cards are not accepted at this time.

**Should a student choose to withdraw from lessons for any reason, a minimum of one month’s notice must be given. Withdrawal without one month’s notice may result in a charge for next month’s tuition.

Each student will have a personal Google Classroom page setup for them. This is the main method of posting assignments, documents, audio files, etc. for students to practice with. This can be attached to a student’s or parent’s email address.

Below is a basic list of items that students will need to begin lessons:

  • Instrument
  • Amplifier & Cables (electric instruments only)
  • Binder or folder for current assignments
  • Binder or folder for archived materials
  • Hal Leonard or other method book (see specific instrument pages for details)
  • Picks (not essential for bass or ukulele)
  • Tuner
  • Spare Strings
  • Metronome or Metronome App
  • Capo (if applicable)

Practice is essential to a student’s progress. The amount of time a student should practice is relative to their age, skill level and musical goals. Ideally students should practice daily. At a minimum, students should be practicing at least 4-5 days a week, for 20 minutes or more.

Neglecting practice will impact what the instructor can accomplish during a lesson and significantly hinder a student’s overall progress.

Students should always bring their instrument, tuner, capo (if applicable), binder and books to lessons. *Students who play electric instruments DO NOT need to bring amps or cables.

It is important that students are on time. Arriving late will take away from your time, not the next student’s. Students are encouraged to arrive early and tune in the waiting room before their lesson begins.

STUDENT CANCELLATIONS

Please give as much notice as possible anytime a lesson will be missed. Excused absences are limited to illness or family emergencies. These are eligible for a make-up lesson based on teacher’s availability. Unexcused absences such as a last minute trip to the beach, too much homework, or no-shows are not eligible for a makeup. All other scenarios such as a family vacation or a sports schedule conflict will be considered for a make-up lesson at the teacher’s discretion.

*No cancellation is eligible for a credit or refund.
**Irregular attendance may result in the loss of a student’s time slot.

INSTRUCTOR CANCELLATIONS

In the event that the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. If a make-up lesson is not possible, students may request a credit towards the next month’s tuition.

*This policy does not apply to scheduled holidays/vacation weeks.

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS

In the event of inclement weather, students will be notified if lessons are canceled. Please do not rely upon school cancelations to determine if lessons are canceled or not). Students will be encouraged to shift to an online lesson via Zoom rather than canceling (unless power or internet is out). Make-up lessons can be requested, but cannot be guaranteed due to limited availability.

*Weather-related cancellations by students or teachers are not eligible for a credit or refund.

Each year the studio is closed for certain holidays, NH school breaks, and the instructor’s vacation dates. These can vary slightly from year to year, but are generally updated here on the website and also communicated via email each quarter.

There are no lessons on the following dates in 2024:

  • January 7 (Orthodox Christmas)
  • February 26 – March 1 (NH February Break)
  • July 4th (Independence Day)
  • August 12-16th

  • November 28-29 (Thanksgiving Thursday/Friday)
