Today’s lesson starts a series on what I call the 1,2,3,4 exercises. I do variations of these exercises with all my students, whether they are complete beginners or have been playing for years. I still do some of them as part of my routine. They are very technical in nature and do not sound very musical at all, but they enable you to play music better as a result working on them. They focus on getting all 4 of your fretting fingers fully functional, plus they are a huge help in synchronizing your picking hand with your fretting hand. This first episode focuses more on the basic exercise but in the last few minutes we dig in to some more difficult variations. Enjoy and feel free to leave comments or questions.
